One of AudioUK’s core functions is to represent the interests of its members, and AudioUK is therefore in regular conversation with opinion formers and decision makers.

Independent audio producers are responsible for many of the most critically-acclaimed UK podcasts, audiobooks and radio programmes. UK audio companies punch above their weight in international competition, such as the New York Festivals Radio Awards.

Through their work with the BBC, commercial radio sector, audiobook publishers, online platforms and corporate market, and live events such as music concerts and theatre, AudioUK’s members are in a position to facilitate a cross-fertilisation of talent and ideas, ensuring that UK audio content is as rich, lively, informative and diverse as possible.

AudioUK has over the years built strong relationships with the Government, Parliament, Ofcom and major broadcasters, and is expanding that work to include the new online platforms.

AudioUK also contributes to the policy debate in other areas, for example skills policy, and diversity in the media.
